XL Quality Industrial Services Inc. is hiring a Steel Estimator/Project Coordinator to oversee daily operations of the sales department. We are a small, team-oriented job shop with a focus on customer service. We source quality steel and associated materials and fabricate customer projects to specification.

Job Description:
- Take care of customers
- Manage and oversee day to day office sales
- Respectfully engage with customers, suppliers and co-workers
- Perform workplace orientations, schedule, and manage projects for the shop
- Participate in maintaining all policies and procedures
- Liaise with the shop team
- Adhere to and foster ongoing compliance with safety procedures and requirements

Wage rate: commensurate with skills and experience, ranging between $25 to $35 per hour.

Full Job Description
Metal Fabrication Estimator:
The role functions as an integral member of a team who prepares metal fabrication quotations by analyzing, ‘Requests for Quote’ requirements, technical drawings, and associated specifications.
Skills/Qualifications:
Extensive metal fabricating blueprint reading and the ability to interpret and analyze specifications and tolerances.
Attention to detail.
Excellent and effective communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication processes and their associated requirements.
Estimator Job Duties:
Compute costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements per blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Work with suppliers to solicit and collect material costs.
Work with fabrication team to identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods.
Work with project management team to establish fabrication rates and options for fabrication methods.
Maintain metrics related to quality and timeliness of quotes supplied to customers and win / loss ratio of quotes submitted.
Review and recommend updates to work centre rates and rate tables.
Regularly review Job Costings to establish accuracy of estimates and estimating process.
Solicit feedback from project management team to improve estimating accuracy.
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Contribute to team effort by performing duties within the project management department and other departments, as needed.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
